ABOUT US
Our chef Trang is a native of Vietnam. She was born in the Mekong Delta ( Long My – Hau Giang ) of Vietnam, grew up and worked in the city of Saigon. Her job in Saigon gave her extensive opportunities to travel across the various provinces and cities in her native country, allowing her to experience a wide variety of delicious dishes.
Her husband and business partner Mike Tong eventually settled in Jackson,Tennessee with the intent of starting a family and a business. Both are entrepreneurs and quickly developed several successful businesses within the beauty world. Their businesses provided opportunities for them to travel across the United States and around the world. Together they searched out various Vietnamese restaurants hoping to find authentic dishes similar to the ones Trang yearned for from back home. Trang and Mike missed her mother’s cooking with homemade recipes that she never found anywhere else in Tennessee or other places they visited.
With the help of her mother and mother-in-law, she soon learned and practiced how to reproduce their recipes. She proudly shared her new savory dishes with friends and clients. Due to ongoing popular requests Trang and Mike decided to make a special recipe dish once a week and offer it for purchase to 50 friends. And now the number has nearly reached 100 orders. The results were an overwhelming success and they sold out orders every single time. Inspired by this grand response, it became clear another business adventure was to be in the making, and Trang’s Kitchen and Catering was born. As obsessed foodies they ramped up visiting establishments to sample and analyze various dishes and beverages for taste, quality, portion size and presentation. Each meal resulted in talking about their tasting experience, the environment and the service they received.

MISSION AND GOALS Our Mission We strive to create cuisine that is imaginative, and from authentic Vietnamese recipes. Our greatest desire is to provide a dynamic experience with our culture’s knowledge and expertise in use of fresh ingredients and nutritional foods. There is unlimited potential and health benefits for inventing new flavors, aromas, tastes with a range of cooking techniques. Introducing these to new passionate customers for Vietnamese foods brings wellness to our community and positive changes in their lifestyle eating.
Our Goals We want to put Jackson, TN on the map with our restaurant and catering business, making it worthy of a special journey by citizens from anywhere across the state. It is important to consistently create new twists on recipes for dishes that cannot be found anywhere else. Every presentation must reach an exemplary level of satisfaction to the eye and palate.
Our passion is to partner with local farmers and suppliers to build mutual partnerships that benefit each other’s businesses and the local community through charitable endeavors.
